Brandy and Monica are finally giving their fans the reunion they’ve been begging for for more than 20 years. The Boy Is Mine Tour will feature both Monica and Brandy in their first joint arena tour, which is set to start on October 16th in Cincinnati and end on December 7th in Houston this fall.
However, those aren’t the only locations, with the duo also planning to make stops in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and St. Louis during their 24-city tour. There are also many special guests set to make an appearance on the tour, including Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and the 2025 winner of American Idol, Jamal Roberts.
From Feud to Full-Circle Moment
Despite many hoping for this tour, for a long time, it seemed like nothing but a dream, considering the feud between Monica and Brandy. In an interview, the two discussed their previous tension with one another being a result of both of them being in the public eye from a young age, where they were essentially pitted against one another. Monica stated during the interview, “People forget we were teenagers… We were strangers to one another!”
Although the song itself was about a made-up love triangle, Brandy acknowledged that it didn’t help the rumors and actually “started to turn nothing into something” because of outside influences.
The two stayed separate from one another in the public eye for quite some time until the ice finally started to melt in 2020 after their record-breaking Verzuz battle, as well as their Grammy-nominated remix of “The Boy Is Mine” with Ariana Grande back in 2024. They’ve now developed a genuine relationship by 2025, with Brandy saying, “Now we can’t stop talking!”
A Celebration of Sisterhood
Both singers have made it clear that this tour is a message as much as it is a show. In a press release, Brandy stated that this tour is about “honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come.”
Monica shared the sentiment, stating that “This tour is a celebration of our history, our impact, and the fans who have grown with us.”
True Harmony
To reveal the news, Brandy and Monica unveiled a dramatic teaser video for their tour, where they played prisoners who are kept apart out of fear of the power they will have together, which generated buzz and already has many people excited to purchase their tickets. (Watch Video Here)
Fans can expect this tour to be filled with hits from each of their decades-long careers, but of course, “The Boy Is Mine” will take center stage, this time without the tension, just harmony (literally and figuratively).
