Bravo has decided to hit pause on Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard after just two seasons, Deadline reports. The reality series hasn’t been canceled, but it won’t be returning for a third season this year.
The show concluded its second season on Sunday, May 26, with a reunion special hosted by Andy Cohen. The cast fought hard for the reunion, eager to resolve lingering issues and air their grievances.
Cast and Concept
Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard features a group of young Black professionals vacationing on the historic island of Martha’s Vineyard, one of the first beach destinations where African Americans could both vacation and purchase property. The current cast includes:
- Nicholas “Nick” Arrington
- Jasmine Ellis Cooper
- Jordan Emanuel
- Bria Fleming
- Shanice Henderson
- Amir Lancaster
- Preston Mitchum
- Summer Marie Thomas
- Alex Tyree
- Noelle Hughly
The show is a spin-off of the original Summer House, which follows New York City professionals renting a house in the Hamptons to party every weekend during the summer.
Recent Bravo Pauses
Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard isn’t the only Bravo reality series on hold. Earlier this year, Winter House was also paused and won’t be filming a fourth season. This series brought together Bravolebrities from shows like Summer House, Vanderpump Rules, and Below Deck to share a house during the winter.
Additionally, Vanderpump Rules is on a break following the “Scandoval” controversy, and it’s uncertain if or when the show will return for Season 12.
Hope for a Return
A paused show doesn’t always mean it’s canceled forever. The Real Housewives of Miami is a prime example, having been put on an extended hiatus after three seasons before being revived by Peacock in 2021 for Season 4 and then moving back to Bravo for Season 6.
Circle60 Scoring from Season 2
Here’s a look at the Circle60 scoring for Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard Season 2:
- Shanice fell out of the Circle60 due to a lackluster performance.
- Jordan remained out of the Circle60, as her attitude towards Alex when he tried to be the bigger person didn’t go down well.
- Jasmine earned points, moving her into the Circle60, along with newcomer Noelle (although that was put in jeopardy with the Nick accusation), Alex, and Preston.
- Summer made it into the Circle60 with her entertaining antics, including the memorable “Inside of me” comment and her engaging outbursts.
- Bria did not earn any Circle60 points in her two seasons so far but her boyfriend did with the hilarious flamingo costume
- Nick (Do I – Do I make you feel uncomfortable?) and Amir earned some Circle60 points throughout the season
Fans of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard are left in suspense, hoping for a potential return in the future. For now, the cast and their dynamic drama are on hold, leaving a gap in Bravo’s summer lineup.
