Champagne Coast, the Summer Song and the Mastermind Behind It

“Champagne Coast,” by Dev Hynes was the summer song of 2024 and has remained popular ever since. Despite the song being played over summer aesthetic videos and fan renditions, it was originally released in 2011 on the album Coastal Grooves. The resurgence of the unique and satisfying sound has led listeners to wonder where they can find more.

Dev Hynes also known as Blood Orange is a talented composer, singer, songwriter, and producer. Originally from London, Hynes moved to New York City in the late 2000’s and has been a resident ever since. Hynes has expressed that he loves making music and going with the flow. He states, “I don’t really have a protectiveness over stuff. I’m not precious with music. I just want it to be the most interesting to me to listen to.” Hynes enjoys sharing music and discovering a new emotion via another artist. However, Hynes’ talent does not end there as he composes music for films as well. The most recent film being Master Gardner and most notable films including Queen & Slim and Palto Alto
