Everything to Look Forward to at the 2026 Grammy Awards

The biggest night in music is officially here. The 68th annual Grammys are set to happen this Sunday, February 1, 2026. This year’s ceremony is set to be held in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and is expected to be a night full of historic wins, performances, and a big hosting send-off, making this year’s Grammys one to remember.

According to the CEO and President of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., this year’s ceremony will be the most exciting, stating in an interview, “I think we’re going to see some history-making moments. With artists being nominated in categories they haven’t been necessarily nominated in before, and then this year—with this crop of newcomers—we’re going to see some really exciting things.”

A Showcase of Talent Takes Center Stage

One of the most anticipated events within the ceremony will be the Best New Artist Performance Segment featuring all eight nominees for the category, including Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, KATSEYE, The Marías, Addison Rae, SOMBR, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Along with these artists, some other performers that have been confirmed are Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, and Pharrell Williams.

Trevor Noah’s Final Bow as Host

The 2026 Grammys will also serve as Trevor Noah’s last show as a host. Noah has been a four-time Grammy nominee and has hosted the Grammys for six consecutive years. With the current president and CEO of the Recording Academy stating that “He really finds the right balance between being funny and smart and knowledgeable but also being a fan of music,”

Trevor Noah is part of a short list of Grammy hosting legends with six hosting shows under his belt, joining the ranks with other longtime hosts such as Andy Williams, LL Cool J, and John Denver.

Competitive & Historic Nominations

When it comes to nominations, Kendrick Lamar has earned a whopping nine nominations, including three of the biggest awards of the night: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year, speaking to the amazing year he had in 2025 with the popularization of his songs “Not Like Us,” “Luther” (with SZA), “Squabble Up,” “TV Off,” and “Peekaboo” after his viral halftime performance.

There were also a few nominations that many weren’t expecting, such as Timothée Chalamet receiving his first-ever nomination in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category for his work in the 2024 film A Complete Unknown for performing 17 out of the 23 tracks that were in the film.

With compelling performances, historic nominations, and a hosting farewell on the horizon, we are expecting an unforgettable show for the 2026 Grammy Awards celebrating music, legacy, and the future of the industry.
