The 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards took place on Thursday, November 14, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, a city synonymous with Latin American culture and the headquarters of the Latin Recording Academy. As the Latin Grammys celebrated this milestone, the event showcased the rapid rise of Latin music, now the fastest-growing streaming genre in the U.S.
This year, over 700 artists were nominated across 58 categories, were headlined by some of Latin music’s biggest stars. The biggest winner of the night was Juan Luis Guerra, who took home Album of the Year for Radio Güira. His performance of “Mambo 23” also earned him Record of the Year and Best Tropical Song.

Jorge Drexler won Song of the Year for his heartfelt track “Derrumbe,” which he dedicated to his late father.
Colombian icon Carlos Vives received a special recognition as Person of the Year, presented by Bon Jovi. Vives, known for reinterpreting Colombian folklore for global audiences, performed hits like “Fruta Fresca” and “La Bicicleta,” closing his performance with a star-studded lineup including Camilo, Juanes, and Sebastián Yatra.
Other highlights included tributes to Mexican music legends José José, Vicente Fernández, and Juan Gabriel, performed by Reik, Alejandro Fernández, and Carlos Rivera. Anitta also took the stage, honoring the music of Sérgio Mendes and showcasing her hit “Mil Veces.”
Rising stars like Danny Ocean and Myke Towers performed, while Joe Jonas joined Ela Taubert, winner of Best New Artist, for an exciting duet.
Édgar Barrera, with nine nominations, won Songwriter of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Best Regional Song. Other winners included Carin León for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album, Draco Rosa for Best Pop/Rock Album, and Kany García for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season) took home Best Urban Music Album, while Luis Fonsi’s El Viaje won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Nathy Peluso was the most awarded female artist of the night, winning three awards, including Best Alternative Song for “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud.”
The 2024 Latin Grammy Awards highlighted the diversity and talent shaping Latin music, making it an unforgettable celebration of culture and creativity.
