Maisie Peters’ newest album, “Florescence”, to be released in May

The official announcement of Maisie Peters’ much-anticipated third studio album has come. The album is titled, “Florescence”, which means the process of flowering or blossoming.

As noted in my last article about Peters, “Florescence” (formerly known as MP3) is very much a springtime album. With a spring release date of May 15, the 15-track album features Marcus Mumford and Julia Michaels. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter’s next single, “My Regards” is out Feb. 6.

Crafting a perfect world around the album, the theme of spring is magically intertwined in each and every detail of this new era.

“It’s about my journey into love, about what it felt like to find real solid roots, and grow into the woman I am now, after spending so much of my girlhood in constant motion,” said Peters on the meaning behind “Florescence”.

The album cover depicts Peters lying in the grass with the shadow of a flower on her cheek. The back cover represents all the beauty of spring, as Peters stands in a field of tall fully-bloomed sunflowers.

Before the official album announcement, Peters held intimate acoustic shows titled, “Before the Bloom” in celebration of the start of her new musical era. Peters played new songs from the upcoming album as well as fan favorites from her earlier albums at these special shows in London and New York.

Peters will play 14 additional “Before the Bloom” shows starting March 2 in Sydney, Australia. You can sign up for access to the presale for the “Before the Bloom” acoustic shows now.

The spring motifs didn’t stop there, as Peters released a promo video featuring herself dressed as a daisy and Georgia Groome dressed as a stuffed olive. Tributing the 2008 comedy and drama, “Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging”, the video featured the actress from the original movie, Groome.

You can pre-order “Florescence” on the Warner Music Store, including signed vinyl and CDs. The album is available for pre-save wherever you get your music.
