Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell have been named the Kia NBA Players of the Month for games played in the month of February. Let’s see why they were named the players of the month in both conferences.

Western Conference: LeBron led the Lakers to a 10-2 record while averaging 29.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists. After turning 40 years old in December, James becomes the oldest player ever to win a Player of the Month award, passing the previous record set by Karl Malone (age 37) with the Utah Jazz in November of 2000.

Eastern Conference: Donovan led the Cavaliers to an NBA-best 10-1 record and averaged a team-high 25.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He also scored at least 20 points in eight of his 10 appearances, including four games of which he scored 30 points or more and a season-high 41 points during Cleveland’s comeback win against Boston on Feb. 28 when they came back from a 22-point deficit.
Both players are magnificent. Let’s see how these players can keep up that same momentum whenever the playoffs begin next month.
