Shakira Hospitalized Due to Abdominal Health Issue, Reschedules Peru Concert

Colombian superstar Shakira has postponed her February 16 concert in Lima, Peru, after being hospitalized due to an abdominal condition. The singer shared the news on her social media platforms, expressing deep regret over the unforeseen health issue that has temporarily sidelined her.

In her heartfelt message, Shakira conveyed her disappointment, stating, “I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience.” She assured fans that her team is actively working to reschedule the performance and emphasized her eagerness to return to the stage once she has fully recovered.

This concert was part of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” World Tour, launched in support of her latest album of the same name. The album, released on March 22, 2024, has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, featuring the global hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” Notably, the record won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards

The tour commenced on February 11, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, and was set to continue across various Latin American cities before heading to Canada and the United States in May 2025. Due to overwhelming demand, Shakira had previously announced the expansion of her North American tour dates and the transition to larger venues to accommodate her growing fan base.

Fans worldwide have expressed their support and well-wishes for Shakira’s swift recovery. While the Lima concert has been postponed, attendees are encouraged to retain their tickets, as new dates will be announced soon. Shakira’s dedication to her craft and her audience remains unwavering, and she looks forward to delivering an unforgettable performance once she returns to full health.
