Shohei Ohtani’s Walk-Off Home Run on his Bobblehead Night Secures Historic Dodgers Win

The reigning World Series champions extended their perfect start to 8-0, marking the best opening record ever for a defending MLB champion.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, the game was tied 5-5. Shohei Ohtani stepped up and crushed a solo home run, propelling the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.

Even though, it’s only the beginning of the season it is clear Ohtani has picked up right where he left off. Last season, he delivered an unforgettable performance, earning his third career MVP award after smashing 54 home runs and stealing 59 bases in the regular season.

“One of the fans was telling me it’s your bobblehead night, you better get a hit,” Ohtani told Spectrum SportsNet LA, while laughing via his translator. “I am glad I was able to do that.”

Ohtani continues to astonish in ways beyond imagination—this time with a walk-off home run on his own bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium.
