The fifth annual BMAC Gala, organized by the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on September 18, 2025, and will honor musicians, industry professionals, and activists who have not only influenced the music of our world but have also used their platforms to change its perception.
The BMAC Gala is one of the most significant events in the industry when it comes to celebrating advocacy, equity, and music. Its fifth anniversary this year is especially significant, both for the legacy it is continuing to create and for what it honors.
A Night for Change-Makers
The 2025 gala, which will be hosted by music and lifestyle expert Kenny Burns alongside Grammy-nominated country music star Mickey Guyton, is expected to embody all that BMAC is about: the pursuit of equity in the music industry, cultural celebration, and accountability.
BMAC is all about action and is one of the primary organizations that is actually carrying out the work to enforce accountability and inclusion in the industry. The coalition was established back in 2020 to help keep the music industry accountable and advocate for changes in community investment, artist support, and executive hiring.
Honoring a Legend: The Harry Belafonte Change Agent Award
There is also a significant change being made to the gala this year. In collaboration with the Belafonte Estate, BMAC announced that its yearly Change Agent Award would now be known as the BMAC x Harry Belafonte Change Agent Award to acknowledge the way Belafonte dedicated his life to the fight for justice and equality.
Looking Ahead
While the complete list of performers and honorees has yet to be revealed, it is already obvious that the 2025 BMAC Gala is setting itself apart from years past. The Black Music Action Coalition serves as a reminder that music is not isolated; it is present in boardrooms, protests, and the voices of our artists.
