The final season of Stranger things is approaching and it is no longer about a simple monster hunt for the D&D party. It’s going to be a full Inter-dimensional war against the enemy sentient Vecna known as Henry Creel who is a physical terrorist who has successfully executed his plan leaving the Upside-down fully merged with Hawkins. Our heros have been able to defeat the demogorgons, out run the mind-flayer and even survive the Soviet Gulag. However defeating Vecna will require more than a blast of telekinesis or a hail mary. Venca is considered to be powerful and god-like but he is not immortal. He can be hurt and mentally distracted. To truly defeat Vecna and sever his connections in Hawkins and close the gate forever it is going to require a three-prolonged synchronized attack. Heres how:
The Brain Attack (El’s Role)
As we see in season 4, during Elven’s battles with Vecna the attacks and damage has only wounded Vecna physically. It was his core psychic consciousness that connected him to the mind flayer and the entire Upside-down. Any time he was physically attacked he would retreat and then re-heal himself. This means El must evolve past just using telekinesis and physical blasts in order to defeat Vecna. She must execute a psychic deep dive teleporting Vecnas mind within his own minds-cape resulting in a psychological warfare which can even come in handy with the help of her sister Kali Prasad, also known as Eight. She can severe his connection to the hive mind and can break the psychic tether which in return prevents him from being able to control the envoirment but also the creatures. He then would become severely wounded and vulnerable which is perfect for setting up the next attack.
The Body Attack (The Fighters’ Role)
The kids during season 4 learned that Eleven is able to distract Vecna’s mind but they also understand his body must be severely and simultaneously be destroyed. Hopper, Joyce, Steve, Nancy, and Robin must execute a synchronized attack on Vecna’s body that is overwhelming and definitive. This can be done using grenades, automatic weapons, and even a rigged explosions with the Russian weapons and tech that Hopper has knowledge of. Fire is also known as a element that severely harms the Upside-down creatures. A copious amount of fire must be able to burn Vecna’s physical form to ash to ensure no re-healing is possible.
The Heart Attack (Will’s/Connection’s Role)
Now lets talk about the ultimate source that could lead to Vecna’s defeat, will. Although Vecna is the general defeat the mind flayer has connections to the Upside-down and can also be considered a big threat. This is where wills connection becomes critical. Wills painful link to the upside-down makes him the only one to be able to truly locate the heart the central nexus of its power. Will must need to use his connection as a internal psychic bomb to destroy the mind flayer from within. Will must be able to guide the group to the mind flayers physical location such as the brain so that they can destroy Vecna’s domain. This could either mean sacrificing his own connection or sacrificing himself.
The Science of the Close: Sealing the Rifts
Although killing Vecna is the goal, killing Vecna will not close the gates forever. The town is still destroyed and has massive Inter-dimensional rifts. Our Hawkins team will need to use technology in order to develop a complex device or process that will allow them to stabilize and permanently seal it ensuring the Upside-down will never return to Hawkins. This might require the help of Robin, Dustin, Lucas and Erica.
