Let the chaos begin. Tyler, the Creator’s seventh studio album, CHROMAKOPIA is finally here.
The 14-track album features artists like Daniel Caesar, Doechii, Donald Glover, GloRilla, Lil Wayne, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Thundercat, Teezo Touchdown, Willow Smith and more.
The music videos released before the album offered a preview of the artistic flair and mood that the album would embody. For instance, “Noid,” the lead single of Chromakopia’s debut, includes a sample from “Nizakupanga Ngozi” by the 1970s Zambian rock band Ngozi Family. In the video, Ayo Edebiri stars as an overzealous fan desperate for a photo with her idol, but her phone transforms into a gun. The track delves into his fears, especially his struggle with trusting those around him, while also critiquing the intense fan culture and the one-sided relationships many form with the celebrities they follow. It highlights his efforts to protect his privacy amidst fans eager to invade his personal life and uncover every detail about him.
Following his Chromakopia listening party in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Oct. 27), he’ll take the album around the globe with “Chromakopia: The World Tour.” With special features, Lil Yachty and Paris Texas, the tour will kick off on February 4 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and will go through other major cities such as his hometown of Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, and New York. He also has dates set in Europe and Australia for next year. Ticket sales will begin with a pre-sale on October 29, and official merchandise will be available through the album’s website and his clothing line, Golf Wang.
Tyler, the Creator continues to redefine musical boundaries with his latest album, Chromatopia, where his lyrics transform across a soundscape that fuses rap and rock with psychedelic touches. This new release echoes the style and production of his acclaimed 2017 album Flower Boy, bringing a familiar yet fresh vibe. Arriving three years after his Grammy-winning “Call Me If You Get Lost,” which took home the trophy for Best Rap Album, Chromatopia marks another innovative chapter in Tyler’s music journey.
