After another early playoff exit, the Milwaukee Bucks could be heading toward a tough decision, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future is suddenly part of the conversation.
Despite signing a three-year extension just last offseason, Giannis finds himself surrounded by uncertainty. Milwaukee has now fallen in the first round for three straight years, and with Damian Lillard’s injury and an aging core, the Bucks may have to consider a major reset. That could mean listening to offers for their franchise star.
If that time comes, several teams are well-positioned to make a move.
Houston Rockets
Armed with young talent and a stockpile of draft picks, the Rockets could build a package around Jalen Green and Alperen Şengün. Adding Giannis would fast-track their rebuild into contention.
Golden State Warriors
If Golden State wants one more run with Steph Curry, they have the pieces to make it happen. Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and future picks could form the foundation of a win-now trade.
Oklahoma City Thunder
With a loaded roster and more draft capital than anyone, OKC could offer the best mix of talent and flexibility. Pairing Giannis with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would instantly make the Thunder a Finals favorite.

Brooklyn has cap space, assets, and a big-market appeal. A move here would give Giannis the stage he reportedly wants, while giving the Bucks a clean rebuild path.
San Antonio Spurs
A dark horse, but intriguing. San Antonio could pair Giannis with Victor Wembanyama and create a nightmare frontcourt. The Spurs also have plenty of picks and a clean cap sheet.
As of now, the Bucks haven’t signaled any intention to move Giannis. But if pressure mounts and the right offer comes along, the landscape of the NBA could shift dramatically.
