The 22-year-old singer-songwriter’s hit song, “We Hug Now”, details the aftermath of a devastating friendship breakup. Praised for its vulnerability and personal yet highly relatable lyrics, the song received over 220 million streams on Spotify since its February 2025 release.
“We Hug Now” took Sydney Rose to new heights and contributed to millions discovering her music.
In April 2025, the Georgia-born sensation released her six-song EP, “I Know What I Want”. Filled with stories of reflection, hope, regret and acceptance, the EP provides new listeners with a perfect introduction to Rose’s introspective discography.
Following the EP’s release, Rose kicked off her first ever headlining tour in Los Angeles with a final show in London.
Displaying her warmth toward her fans, Rose so graciously took the time to meet with fans at local cafés and after each show.
A major milestone and New Year’s resolution for Rose came to fruition as she opened for Noah Kahan and Gracie Abrams at BST Hyde Park in London in July 2025.
Hearing the massive crowd passionately sing along to “We Hug Now” moved the fans who attended in person as well as those who watched at home.
Expanding her reach, the Nashville-based star continued her headlining “I Know What I Want Tour” with new dates in Europe and the U.S.
Rose sold VIP tickets for the first time in her career for these new dates, which gave fans an enhanced experience. VIP ticket holders attended a pre-show event, including a three-song acoustic set, a Q&A and a group photo with Rose and the other attendees.
The intimate set gave fans the opportunity to ask Rose questions and request songs for her to sing acoustically.
Having the honor to see Rose in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, I treasured each and every moment of the special VIP experience.
It’s not everyday you see an artist sit on the stage and sing with no microphone right in front of you or take the time to say “hi” while you’re queuing outside the venue. It’s even rarer when the entire crowd respects the artist’s boundaries, letting them pass by without any requests for photos or autographs, which is exactly what Rose’s fans did.
The delicate manner that Rose’s fans treat her and her band with is a true testament to her exemplary character. Tenderhearted Rose makes everyone in every single room she steps into feel special and included without fail.
Frequently going live on TikTok to sing fan favorites and tease unreleased music, Rose connects with fans near and far who otherwise might not have had the opportunity to.
While preparing for the final, Australian leg of her tour, Rose released her latest single, “Over” with fellow singer-songwriter, Tom Odell.
If “Over” represents how Rose’s next project will sound, it’s sure to leave fans speechless and in utter awe of her astonishing talent.
