Gilbert Arenas’ popular podcast Gil’s Arena is set to embark on its fifth season this August, joining the burgeoning media network Playmaker. This move comes after a significant split from Underdog, with Arenas successfully retaining the rights to his show. The relaunch will originate from his independent studio in Los Angeles, featuring five episodes weekly.
Longtime cohost Josiah Johnson will continue his collaboration with Arenas on the new network. Additionally, former NBA player Nick Young has confirmed his participation in the relaunch, adding further star power to the program.
Playmaker will assume responsibility for sales and distribution of Gil’s Arena, integrating it into their expanding portfolio of athlete-driven podcasts. This roster already includes prominent shows like Club Shay Shay and The Roommates Show, highlighting Playmaker’s focus on sports and entertainment content.
