The BBC has announced the appointment of Chris Sussman as its new Director of Comedy. Sussman, a seasoned executive in the comedy sector, previously served as director of scripted series at Netflix U.K. and held the position of head of comedy at BBC Studios.
In his new role, Sussman will lead the BBC’s comedy department, which the corporation describes as the “U.K.’s largest generator of original British scripted.” His appointment marks a significant move for the broadcaster as it aims to bolster its comedy output.
