Macklemore announced his exit from the tour on September 15th, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. However, Sheeran clarified in a statement on September 17th that while he supports Macklemore’s decision, the tour’s logistical and scheduling matters are handled by the respective venues and promoters.
“I’m gutted to see Macklemore go, but I completely understand his need to be with his family,” Sheeran said. “The tour is a massive undertaking, and unfortunately, decisions about who can join at the last minute are out of my hands. The venue and promoter made the final call on this one.”
Sheeran emphasized that the tour is a collaborative effort and that he values the contributions of all artists who have joined him on various legs of the tour. He expressed his best wishes to Macklemore and his family, and assured fans that the remaining dates would proceed as planned with the current lineup.
