Rob Minkoff, the filmmaker best known for co-directing Disney’s The Lion King, will develop and executive-produce Storm Dogs, a new family feature from Tilly Norwood, the creator of Particle 6. The attachment was announced Friday.
Details on financing, distribution, writers and casting have not been disclosed. The project is being described as a family picture with Minkoff listed as developer and executive producer and Norwood credited as the originating creator.
Minkoff brings a long track record in family entertainment, from his co-directing work on The Lion King to his direction of family titles in both animation and live-action. His involvement gives the project an experienced creative steward as it enters development.
