It took no time for James to reach 50,000 career points. In the first quarter, he scored a three-pointer in front of a crowded Crypto.com arena against the Pelicans.

No other player in the NBA, active or non-active, is close to reaching this mark. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the second highest career points at 44,419 combined points. Kevin Durant, the closest active player, has 35,225 combined points.
In the post game interview, James said, “I’m not going to sit here and sugarcoat it – it’s a hell of a lot of points, and I’m super blessed to be able to put that many points up in the best league in the world with the best players in the world over my career, so it’s pretty special.”
James ended the night with 34 points, making his total combined career points 50,033.
