Maisie Peters to release her third studio album this year – What we know so far

The powerhouse songwriter best known for her devastating ballads and catchy pop songs, Maisie Peters, has confirmed a 2026 release for her third studio album.

“MP3”, the album title coined by fans, marks a dramatic shift in tone from English-born Peters’ predominately cathartic and haunting discography, a change signaled by the release of the upcoming album’s first two singles. The dual lead singles, “Audrey Hepburn” and “You You You” revealed to the fans how beautiful love songs and gut-wrenching breakup songs can coexist on the same album.

Twenty-five-year-old Peters described “Audrey Hepburn” as the song that best defines the album and her current life. The track is a poetic love song about a relationship so powerful and so healing that it changes your entire perspective on love. With lyrics like, “Love was a myth, now it’s my morning coffee. The one you leave me by our bed. I don’t need accolades or everyone to want me. ‘Cause you want me, and that’s as good as it gets,” the track is unlike anything we’ve ever heard from Peters.

The sickening masterpiece that is “You You You” is the complete opposite of “Audrey Hepburn”, reminiscent of Peters’ earlier work. Peters doesn’t spare anyone with this track, so you’ll want to sit down while listening to this one. Peters opens the song with the lyrics, “I eat about you, so I weigh less than when we met. I sleep about you, dream of you two having sex. I breathe about you, yeah, your name lives in my chest.” “You You You” perfectly describes what it’s like to feel haunted by lovers past, consuming everything you do.

Peters began teasing “MP3” in August 2024 when she opened up for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour”. During her performance, she wore socks that said “MP3”, which led to much fan speculation as to when the album would be released. The 2026 release was later confirmed in December 2025 in an Instagram post where Peters called 2026 the year of “MP3”.

The latest album news comes from an Instagram post this afternoon where Peters told fans to keep a big eye out in the next week.
